Farewell to Trevor Gibb

12.21.15pm GMT Fri 30th Oct 2009

On Friday a service was held at St James' C of E School in Bermondsey to mark the retirement of Trevor Gibb, the school caretaker for more than 20 years.

Many of the children participated in the service, which also involved presentation of a signed card and a recording from each year group. Also present were teachers, friends and also former headteacher Mrs Robinson.

Simon Hughes, long term friend of Trevor and Janice and chair of governors at St James' said:

"Trevor has dedicated over two decades of his life to this school. Trevor and his wife Janice deserve our sincere thanks for this."

"The school's successes in recent years are testament to Trevor's hard work and he will be sorely missed. On behalf of the governors, the school and the local community - many of whom know Trevor - I would like to wish Trevor and Janice a very happy, well deserved retirement."
